Arts 101
The Arts 101 Program offers a comprehensive introduction to various artistic disciplines, including drawing, painting, sculpture, and digital art.
Designed to spark creativity and self-expression, this program enables members to explore their artistic abilities through hands-on projects and guided instruction.
Participants engage in activities that foster imagination, improve fine motor skills, and enhance their understanding of artistic techniques and concepts.
By focusing on creative expression and emotional development, Arts 101 helps members build confidence, communicate their ideas, and appreciate the arts in a supportive and inclusive environment.
Visual Arts
At Kips Bay, we recognize that the benefits of art reach far beyond mere creativity and self-expression.

Our art programs enhance cognitive development by sharpening problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and spatial awareness through hands-on experimentation with diverse materials and techniques. Art education also plays a crucial role in nurturing emotional intelligence, offering children a valuable space to explore and articulate their emotions. This process encourages empathy, builds self-esteem, and fosters resilience, equipping our members with a well-rounded foundation for personal growth.
Pottery
Ages 6-18
In this program, members will explore the art of working with clay and other ceramic materials. They’ll learn the process of forming vessels and various objects, from bowls and plates to small vases and unique ceramic pieces.
This hands-on experience allows for creativity and skill development in creating functional and artistic items, while also enhancing fine motor skills and spatial awareness.
Digital Arts
In the Digital Arts Program, members dive into the world of digital creativity by learning how to express themselves through technology. They explore various forms of digital art, including graphic design, animation, and video production.
Using our state-of-the-art digital recording studio, members have the opportunity to create, edit, and showcase their own audio and video projects, developing valuable skills in digital media and self-expression.
Podcast Program
We are thrilled to employ over 1,300 young people every summer. Members have the opportunity to apply for positions at various locations, including Kips Bay’s partner sites such as hospitals, law offices, radio stations, and more. This program provides many members with their first paycheck and essential skills for a successful career.

Videography
Our Videography Program empowers members to explore the art of visual storytelling. Participants learn the fundamentals of filming and editing, from camera operation to post-production techniques.
Through hands-on experience, members create their own video projects, enhancing their skills in digital media and storytelling. This program not only cultivates creativity but also provides practical skills that can lead to future career opportunities in the media and entertainment industries.
