Youth Learn to Swim
Ages 6 yrs — 13 yrs
Registration begins September 16th
The Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club offers structured learn-to-swim classes for all registered members.
Available during the week (Mon/Wed or Tues/Thurs) and on Saturdays, our program features three levels of instruction—from beginner to advanced. These classes are designed to equip members with essential swimming skills, ensuring they enjoy the water safely.

Kips Bay Makos Swim School Ages 6 — 18

Our Makos Swim School caters to advanced swimmers who have completed our Level III Learn-to-Swim (LTS) program.
Trained by our experienced Makos coaches, this intensive course focuses on refining technique and enhancing skill levels, serving as a perfect pathway to joining the KB Makos Swim Team. Swimmers must be proficient in Freestyle, Backstroke, and Breaststroke to participate.
For those not ready to commit to competitive swimming, this program is an ideal opportunity to continue skill development and improvement.
Registration begins Sept. 16 — Oct. 5
Swimmers 9 & Under:
Must be able to swim 25 yards of the following: Freestyle, Backstroke, and Breaststroke. If part of the Kips Bay Aquatics Lessons, they must pass level 3 or greater.
Swimmers 10 & over:
Must be able swim 50 yards in all strokes and complete Kips Bay Aquatics Swim School requirements.
Kips Bay Makos Swim Team Tryouts
Ages 6 — 18

The Kips Bay Makos is a registered USA Swimming Team and member club of Metropolitan Swimming LSC.
The team's goal is to reach high-level championships like Zones, Senior Mets, and Junior Olympics.
The Makos is also a member club in the Metro Swim League of NY & NJ, competing against teams from other Boys & Girls Clubs and other New York and New Jersey swim programs.
We compete from October to July at local and out of State meets in North Carolina, Washington DC, and Puerto Rico, to name a few.
The Swim team is organized into two programs that split new (Novice) and elite (USA) swimmers within the program.
