This is how we do it:
The Keystone Club: A national Boys & Girls Club program that fosters Leadership development, Free enterprise, Service to Club & Community, Education & Career Exploration, Unity & Social Recreation.
ClubService: A national Boys & Girls club program that allows members ages 17-18 years old to receive a monetary educational award upon completion of 900 hours of community service.
College Prep/”Saturdays @ Manhattanville College”: These programs prepare high school juniors & seniors for college. Some of the topics covered are the financial aid process, selecting a college, college retention. We also tour various college campuses.
Road Code: The UPS Teen Safe Driving program is an innovative safe driving initiative for member’s ages 16-18 years old. The teens are taught safe driving habits and with the aid of simulators get a real driving experience. This program is made possible thru a partnership with UPS (United Parcel Service, Foundation).
Smart Girls/Men’s Group: Our premier lifeskills groups for our female members & male members.
The DJ Academy: Club teens can come to learn or improve their mixing, blending, scratching and beat juggling skills. In addition to the fundamentals, students learn the history of hip-hop.
The Summer Youth Employment Program:
The purpose of the Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) is to provide New York City youth ages 14 – 24 with summer employment and educational experiences that build on their individual strengths, talents and interests, while developing skills and competencies. Participants are paid through the New York City Department of Youth and Community Development. Applications will be available April 2010.
In the spring, the Youth of the Year begins. Youth of the Year is a local, regional and national competition during which club members are recognized for academic success, service to the club and community, and life goals. Our winner goes on to represent Kips Bay in Albany, New York, with the goal of achieving the next level.
In addition all teenagers are able to participate in the recreational programs:
Hoop It Up (Free Play Basketball), Drop In (Come lounge in our state of the art Teen Center), Movie Nights,WII & Playstation Tournaments, Spades & Domino Tournaments and TEEN PARTIES!!!!!
Through our programs teenagers can be helped to develop their senses of
belonging, usefulness, influence and competence!!!!!
