The crowds roar! The bleachers rumble! Excitement fills the air! The fan base is loud, loyal, and huge! Ladies and gentlemen, this is Street Hockey at the Bay!!! Through a partnership with the National Hockey League, the New York Rangers, and Boys & Girls Clubs of America, members of three Kips Bay locations have been privileged to learn the concept and developmental skills of the game before kicking off our very first inter-club Street Hockey tournament.
Every Tuesday and Thursday evening, one our clubhouses plays host to the traveling team, which arrives with dedicated coaches, and a sense of belonging and camaraderie. Win or lose, our players learn to play beyond the score. The Street Hockey program teaches them about winning in life, excellence, teamwork and commitment. The Street Hockey program teaches healthy, spirit-filled competition. At the end of each game, coaches and players line up and shake hands in anticipation of the next game.
Our players await the opportunity to compete at the Big Game at the USS Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum in June 2012. In the meantime, we invite you to follow our players as they master the skills and strategies of the game. Ladies and gentlemen, this is Street Hockey at the Bay.
